The "SG7109 ultra slubby" jeans are made of an unsanforized 17oz heavyweight slubby and neppy indigo dyed fabric. This is one of the most beautiful types of ultra-slubby and neppy denim produced in Japan. It is made from 100% Zimbabwe cotton, and Strike Gold have used a super short cotton staple for the weft to create the fabric. The staple length refers to the length of the fibres of any given material. In terms of cotton, this is the average length within a sample of a species. Cotton with longer staple lengths tends to produce softer and hairier fabrics than those with shorter ones, but short-staple fabrics tend to have a fantastic rugged and extremely uneven touch.
To produce this fabric, The Strike Gold have used a super slow spinning of the thread in the shuttle loom and due to the abrasive nature of the denim when raw the jean will age faster than most jeans and with high contrast fades.
